Politics is a social activity. It permiates and affect our lives. Often, without us realising just how much of our daily life affects and shapes. Yet, the importance of politics to everyday life and degree to which many of our daily activities are political is not always fully appreciated. Every human being are political animal. In our family, we play politics. Within our friends, we play politics. In house of God, we play politics. Some say politics is a dirty game but it depends on the way you play it.
We have it in one of the leading aspirants who have shown interest to become the next governor of Ondo State, come October 10,2020, Chief Olaide Owolabi Adelami. Adelami is a truly are pragmatic leader with large heart and a high sence of public service. A man with tenacious and deliberate determination to lift up the people of Ondo State. His entire interest in politics is the people welfare and you can see the passion all over him. He does not believe in negative but in positive.
A proverb says”one of the way to know a good leader is in understanding of the people problems and found solutions to solve such problem.” This has been the way Adelami has been demonstrated when he was in the service as the Deputy Clerk in the national assembly.
An accountant by profession, know the felling of Ondo State people and how to solve it. This was the reason the people of Ondo State are called on him to come and contest for the Governor of the state in October election.
Adelami; who is an indigene of Owo in Owo local government areas of Ondo State has since declared his intention to contest on the platform of All Progressive Congress (APC). His ambition was determined by the yearning of the people of Ondo State to come and rescue them from maladministration.
Adelami said, he has 10-point of agenda for Ondo State. “, I have ten points of agenda for the state and these are borne out of the genuine need of the people. Through my training, I have been taught on how to carry out things. I have a strategy to implementing my agenda. My first priority is agriculture. This was what Late Chief Obafemi Awolowo did to sustain the western region”.
He also promised to focus industrialisation, youth employment, education, sports development and information technology. The man who didn’t show any interest in politics was invited by the presidency to come and help APC in the state so that they can won the election, in they won. He was appointed as state coordinator and this was his first exposure to politics. He coordinated all the eighteen local government areas of Ondo State and reconciled all the aggressive members of APC before the election.
Adelami who was a philanthropist, has done a lot for his community in Owo. His taught is that, if he can become the governor of Ondo State, he would do better.
Adelami who believes in education taķe a look at few rehabilitation of schools structure in the state and said that the state is only living on the past glory and education in the state are in sorry situation. Because all the public schools in the state did not have qualified teachers due to the failure of government to recruit teachers.
The man has been responsible for the payment of Mathematics teachers for Imade College, Owo, his alma mater. A lot of group’s has been coming out to support his ambition to become the next governor of Ondo State. One of the group are Ondo Progressive Forum. The group leader said, the body was created to support and canvas for progressive candidate in APC and to actualize the aims of the coming together of different political parties to form an environment where only the progressive occupy political office in Nigeria, especially as the federal government has endorsed the candidacy of Olajide Adelami. They said the group has its members across all the eighteen local government areas of Ondo State and they were going to use their strength to mobilize, canvas and vote in Adelami into power come October 10,2020.
The group said that, after through screening, Adelami antecedent in the public service was excellent. They said he rose from the level of obscure to a place of grace. He served the masses for good thirty five years and attained the peak of his career. He know the masses and related with the people and this gave us the assurance that the erudite retired Deputy Clerk of the national assembly will influence physical development to the people of Ondo State.
Also, Pillar Movement in Nigeria (PMN) said, Adelami has the attributes of a good leader and urging the people of Ondo State to support him.
The president of the Association, Otunba Remi Adebiyi said, the organization has worked for the victories of some last governor’s including the late Chief Adekunle Ajasin, Chief Adebayo Adefarati, Dr.Olusegun Agagu, Dr. Olusegun Mimiko and the incumbent governor Akeredolu (SAN).
He said the governorship aspirant has promised to govern and rule, explained that the later meant being autocratic. Adelami would use his training as an accountant and the civil service experience to bring growth to the state.
With all the people and groups has been said about Adelami as the best candidate for the Governor of Ondo State, come October 10,2020, the larger populace in the APC is to make a choice between a leader that will be self centre or a selfless and constant man who we feel the impact of his people. Today’s government in Ondo State is a family affairs. Adelami is the most equipped candidate to deliver the dividends of democracy to the people of Ondo State. Today, the world economy is in comatose due to Covid-19 pandemic. Our state needs extraordinary person like Adelami as a governor. Extraordinary time required extraordinary person.
