Opinion leaders have urged all Nigerians to seize the opportunity of this year’s Eid-el-Maulud to reflect on the virtues of the Holy Prophet by showing honesty and humility for fellow citizens.
This was contained in goodwill messages obtained by our correspondent from muslim leaders, traditional rulers to mark the occasion.
The chairman supreme council for Islamic affairs in Akoko northwest local government, Sheik Basiru Aminu, called on Nigerian youths to embrace peace and and allow dialogue to solve the problems, because they demanded for genuine things that can make governance meaningful to Nigerians.
The cleric noted that youths agitations and demands are legitimate, but destruction of properties, killing of innocent are outrightly wrong.
A first monarch in Akoko south west, the Olubaka of Oka, Oba. Yusuf Adebori Adeleye, congratuted muslims for witnessing another celebration despite all odds, as covid 19 pandemic ravages the globe, while claiming many lives and negatively affected socio-economic activities
He explained that Endsars protest had its own negative impact. He also called on Nigerians to love one and other and always preach and unity always.
The monarch lauded the state government for setting up judicial panel to probe the endsar protest.
He, however, appealed to Nigerians to allow peace to reign.
The secretary Ansar ud deen society of Nigeria Akoko divisional coucil, Alhaji Bakai momodu, also admonished the Federal government to examine the youth demands and embark on policies that will reduce unemployment, hunger and insecurity.
The Muslim leader condemned in strong terms, the wanton destruction of lives and properties by hoodlums and miscreants who hijacked the Endsar protest in the country.
