Ondo Young Planners Forum to Launch Technology Competence Initiative

The Chairman Young Planners Forum, Ondo State Chapter in person of Tpl. Bukola Sunday Odediran, on Wednesday, promised to launch Technology Competence Initiative (TCI) program for all planners including the student and graduate member in the state in order to cushion the knowledge gap of Planners in ICT related application. Tpl. Odediran,  revealed these during the End of the year party organised by the Forum at NITP House, Alagbaka in Akure, the State capital.

Odediran also pledged that YPF will partner with community heads and philanthropists to secure educational grants for students in the field of Urban and Regional Planning within the state.

He explained that the TCI has become imperative in thus Digital Age, as the forum is planning to launch E-learning platforms for its members. 

Speaking at the epoch making event, Ondo State Chairman of Nigeria Institute of Town Planners, Tpl Anawoye Ayodele, said the Young Planners are enjoined to face up to the  challenge of bridging the widening gap between the old and new generations of professionals in their field.

Earlier, the Chairman of the Occasion, Tpl Gbolabo Osunsanmi, a fellow of the institute extolled the virtues of the young professionals, whom he advised to imbibe the core values of hardwork and honesty after taking them on the history lane of Young Planners Forum in the World and Nigeria.

In the same vein, National Chairman Education and Research Committee, Dr. Olugbamila; Representative Board of fellow, Tpl Ibikunle and Director of Physical Planning, Tpl Z. O Alonge,  charged the youngsters to eschew the lure of lucre and get-rich-quick tendencies.

Tpl. Adeyemi, Tpl. Amodu and Tpl. Olufayo during their remarks urged the Forum to disburse their educational cash aid to secondary school students with distinction in Geography, a vital foundation subject for urban and regional planning.
