The management of Aina Awaw International College in Ilu-Abo, Akure North Local Government area of Ondo State, recently gave thanks to the Almighty God for saving the life of its students and staff of the school during a bomb blast which occured on 28th March,2020.
The thanksgiving coincided with the valedictory service for the first set of the students from the school and a staff who has contributed immensely to the success of the school.
It will be recalled that on 28th March, 2020, a truck carried an explosive to Auchi in Edo state exploded at the front of the college and destroyed a properties worth millions of naira.
The people of the area were sleeping when the unfortunate incident happened, as many people sustained various degrees of injury.
Speaking with the Focus Magazine in the school, the proprietor of Aina Awaw International College Ilu-Abo, Otunba Engr. Samuel Oladele, said he has all the reasons to thank God for His mercy and protection upon the life of the students and the entire workers of the college during and after the bomb blast that destroyed virtually all the buildings of the College.
"It's exactly a year today that the blast occurred in the front of the college. It was after a day the Ondo State government asked all the schools in the state to close down due to the surge of Covid19 pandemic.
Lets assume that the management did not complyed with the government directive, we don't know what might have happened to our students and staff of the college now"
"We thank God that we heeded to government's directive and the college didn't witnessed any calamity on any one. This is the reason we're returning all the glory back to Him".
Oladele added further that the college is now wearing a new look and we're ready to continue to give more quality education to our students.
The proprietor of the college used ceased the moment to felicitate with the pioneer students been sent off.
He urged them to be an ambassador of the college in any where they found themselves.
"With the quality of education you have acquired from Aina Awaw International College, go and make use of it for your own benefit. In all things, remember the son and daughters of whom you are".
Oladele called on the parents to see the college as their own and they must joined hands together with him for the success of the college.
He asked parents to evaluate the educational standards of their wards, compared to their inception in the school.
Oladele show appreciation to God for one of the student who performed very well in her West African Examination Council WAEC ,Miss Adelola Tolulope Raji that made the college proud.
Oladele assured the parents of the girl that the school would assist her to further her education in the United Kingdom UK due to the promised he had made that any students that performed brilliantly would be sponsored to the university level at abroad with the support of the parents".
