A community leader, Mr. Kazeem Rafiu has advised community Leaders to champion the registration and collection of Permanent Voter Card, PVC, for members of their community.
Mr. Rafiu who stated this while addressing Resident of Alabidun zone during an awareness forum said those who do not have Permanent Voter Card, PVC, should not complain of ineffective governance after the 2023 elections.
The new Chairman of Alabidun Zone 2 Community, New Airport Alakia, Ibadan told the gathering of home owners and tenants in the Area that Residents should take advantage of a new Polling Boot INEC recently granted the community to prepare themselves towards their civic responsibility.
Speaking further, Mr. Rafiu enjoined the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC to make the registration process more seamless for Nigerians so as to allow those who have not registered for their PVCs to do so.
He said, “as we can see that Nigerians are preparing for 2023 elections. We want to awaken the consciousness of the everyone. We should get our PVC and vote for the right candidates without let or hinderance.’’
On security, Mr. Rafiu who told the gathering that effective State and National security begins within communities, called on the people of the area to support their community leaders towards achieving safety of lives and property, as well as conducive environment for all.
