We're impressed with Gov Aiyedatiwa’s achievements in 10 months, says Sanwo-Olu

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has inaugurated its National Campaign Council for the upcoming Ondo State governorship election, reaffirming its commitment to winning decisively on November 16, 2024.

The ceremony, held in Akure, brought together key party leaders, including Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, appointed as Council Chairman, and former Deputy Senate President, Sen. Ovie Omo-Agege, as Secretary.

Speaking at the event, APC National Chairman, Alhaji Abdullahi Ganduje, emphasized the party’s dedication to securing a resounding victory, instructing the campaign team to work tirelessly towards a smooth win.

The campaign council is further strengthened by the involvement of Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun and Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji, both heading sub-committees.

Accepting his appointment, Governor Sanwo-Olu expressed confidence in Ondo voters’ support for Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, praising his achievements over the past ten months.

“Reviewing Governor Aiyedatiwa’s extensive work, it’s evident he’s the right leader for the job. The APC is dedicated to presenting the best candidate for Ondo State, and this campaign will focus on the issues that matter most to the people,” Sanwo-Olu affirmed.

In his remarks, Governor Aiyedatiwa expressed deep appreciation for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s leadership, unifying the APC and inspiring confidence across party lines.

He also paid tribute to the late former Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, honoring his legacy and requesting a moment of silence in his memory.

The governor highlighted key achievements, including the construction of over 70 kilometers of rural roads, initiatives to boost job creation, healthcare, local businesses, and education.

“This inauguration signifies our unwavering commitment to serving the people of Ondo State and building a prosperous future together,” Aiyedatiwa said, exuding optimism for both the party’s prospects and the state’s development.

APC State Chairman Engr. Ade Adetimehin praised the council’s strategic leadership, noting significant defections from opposition ranks, which he believes signal a strong shift in favor of the APC.

Citing previous successes led by Governor Sanwo-Olu, Adetimehin projected over 80 percent voter support for the APC in Ondo.

Director-General of the Lucky Aiyedatiwa Campaign Committee and House of Representatives member, Hon. Abiola Makinde, expressed confidence in a landslide victory.

Thanking President Tinubu and the APC national leadership, Makinde cited the high-caliber council members as a sign of the party’s solid standing in Ondo.

In attendance were numerous APC leaders and stakeholders, all voicing their support and commitment to ensuring a successful election for the party.
