Senator Ipinsagba highlights achievements, urges unity in response to open letter

Senator Olajide Ipinsagba, representing Ondo North Senatorial District and Chairman of the Senate Committee on Public Procurement, has responded to an open letter from a constituent, Ife Ajibuwa, outlining his developmental strides and reaffirming his commitment to effective representation.

In the detailed response, dated January 13, 2025, Senator Ipinsagba addressed concerns raised about his performance, highlighting numerous initiatives aimed at improving the lives of the people in Ondo North.

He emphasized his efforts in agriculture by organizing training programs for farmers and youths to adopt modern techniques and distributing fertilizers to enhance food security.

In the health sector, the Senator revealed the construction and full equipping of a modern health center in Akunnu-Akoko, along with the supply of medical equipment to the State Specialist Hospital in Ikare-Akoko.

He also noted his contributions to education, including the distribution of free JAMB forms to students across the district and his sponsorship of a bill for the establishment of an ICT University in Ikare-Akoko, which recently held a successful public hearing.

Ipinsagba also highlighted significant infrastructure projects, such as the construction of a 1.5-kilometer road in Oka-Akoko, the establishment of a modern civic center in Ikare, and the development of 28 lock-up shops in Oka-Akoko to boost local commerce.

Additionally, he pointed to renewable energy projects, including the installation of solar panels in towns and villages, benefiting institutions like Adekunle Ajasin University.

Empowerment initiatives were a central theme, as he detailed vocational training programs for women and youths in confectionery, tailoring, soap-making, and ICT, with participants receiving start-up grants and equipment to establish businesses.

He also facilitated job placements in federal agencies, including the NNPC, Police, Army, and others, while awarding scholarships and bursaries to over 1,000 tertiary students.

Addressing criticisms, Senator Ipinsagba urged constituents to focus on the progress made rather than divisive narratives propagated by opposition factions. He reiterated his commitment to fostering unity and sustainable development across the senatorial district, emphasizing that his legislative efforts prioritize creating opportunities for self-reliance and economic growth.

The Senator concluded with a renewed promise to continue working tirelessly for the people of Ondo North, encouraging constructive dialogue and collaboration to enhance the district’s development. “Together, we can build a district that stands as a beacon of effective representation and empowerment,” he stated.
