The Vice-Chancellor of Sam Maris University (SMU), Supare-Akoko, Ondo State, Prof. Francis Gbore, has extended Easter greetings to Christians in celebration of the festivity.
In a statement issued to newsmen this morning, the Don urged the University community to use the period to imbibe the teachings and virtues of Jesus Christ.
The statement reads, “On behalf of Management, Staff, and Students and entire Community of Sam Maris University, I extend my warmest congratulations to all Christian faithful on the occasion of the 2025 Easter celebration.
“Easter remains one of the most sacred seasons in the Christian Calendar. It is a time that reminds us of the ultimate sacrifice of our Lord Jesus Christ, His victory over death, and the promise of eternal life.
“This celebration offers us all great opportunity to renew our faith, strengthen our hope, and embrace the joy that comes with Christ’s resurrection.
“I urge members of the University Community and all Christian Faithful to use this holy period to reflect deeply on the values that Jesus Christ embodied - love, humility, forgiveness, patience, and selfless service.
“These values are not only essential to our spiritual growth but also serve as guiding principles in building a peaceful, united, and progressive society.
“Let us also remember to extend a hand of kindness to those around us, especially the less privileged. In doing so, we live out the true meaning of Easter and contribute positively to the wellbeing of our Community and the nation at large.
As we celebrate this sacred season, may it bring peace, joy, and spiritual advancement to every heart and home. I wish you all a blessed and fulfilling Easter celebration.
